Dawn is a happy girl because of you =D
missing you
For my whole life, I've been trying to stay afloat.
But after twenty years, I still find myself breathless.
I realised that I've hardly done anything right, from school to dance to music to relationships. What have I ever excelled in? I asked myself. And I couldn't think of any. I tried everything. But I think I failed more times than I tried.
Of course there were times when I could breathe, but that never really lasted long. Just a short breath I would say, and then, sinking back down was a horrible feeling. But desperately struggling to get back to the surface created yet another bulk of problems.
All I could do was to watch other people swim past, heading towards that finishing line. While I, on the other hand, is trying to stay afloat and gasping for air that I can hardly reach.
When will I be able to ever swim like them? When will I be able to at least thread water and keep my head above the line? I don't know. I really don't.
The only thing I can count on now is not myself, but my float. The float that will at least help me to breathe. But I know that one day, I will still have to swim on my own. I can't always grab on to my float and expect it to keep me alive.
Thank you for being my float. But I hope that one day, I will be swimming beside you, and we will cross that finishing line together.
I need my float. Please teach me how to swim?
I hate self-centered people. I really do. Just for your information, the world is not only about you.

I MISS YOU! Sigh, I know it's back to work tomorrow again. Today just went by in a flash and we haven't talked much again either! :(
Just when Singaporeans perceive that people from Western countries are oh-so-courteous, think again.
A man was running towards a stationary tram, apparently trying to make a mad dash for the opened doors. Just when he was in front of the doors, the tram driver decided to close them. Therefore, he knocked furiously, as anyone would do. But the tram driver ignored his repetitve knocks and moved the tram while the man was STILL knocking. You can say that the tram driver didn't hear him but it's impossible not to see him from the huge ass mirrors at the side. I don't see why it was so difficult to re-open the doors for a few more seconds, knowing that the next tram was still no where in sight.
There were so many times when I had to run to catch a bus in Singapore. And out of those times, almost all, if not all the bus drivers waited for me at the bus stop, even if I was still no where near. As long as they see you desperately trying to run like a madwoman/man, they will wait for you. And of course, we should thank them for doing so. I think bus drivers like these should at least receive a word of thanks, but some people think its just part of their job and wouldn't care less.
Well, that's not the end of the tram story. When the tram started moving off, the man subsequently pointed his middle finger at the tram's side mirrors (hoping that the driver would see his expression of anger).
Hmm, I think I would be angry too, but not till the extent where I will curse and point my middle finger. Haha. Well, what's the big deal, just wait for the next tram, right? I bet Singaporeans have missed their buses all the time, but I've never seen anyone curse and swear at the bus driver for not waiting for them. Well, maybe that man was in a rush, I don't know. But it still boils down to time management. If he could have gotten there a fraction earlier, he'd probably be nice and comfy on the tram.
One tram driver, one impatient man and one afternoon walk back home doesn't allow me to generalise my views for all Australians. Yes, I've seen nice tram drivers and people but the Singaporean/Asian perception of the "friendly, courteous West" doesn't always apply all the time. Singaporeans are always complaining how inefficient the transport system in Singapore is. But they won't understand the word of "inefficient" till they actually step out of that level of comfort and appreciate what they have. I think if the Melbourne transport system were to be implemented in Singapore, it'll fail miserably.
Just on another note, maybe Australia should have a courtesy campaign too. Remember Singa the courtesy Lion?
How about a smiling Kangaroo for Australia?
No more Skittles and dark chocolate - just stained, crumpled tissues.
